Subject: Best Guster Show on the Archive?

I think this is probably the best Guster show I've heard on the Archive so far. The band play a great set very well and the audience sings along at just the right volume on all the old songs and there are a few songs from their yet-to-be-released album. The sound quality is very good. You probably couldn't fool anyone into thinking it was a studio recording but for a live show it's very good. I would highly recommend this show to all Guster fans.

Subject: Good Recording, Good Show

The recording here is really well done . . . for a Guster show. The vocals are bit high in the mix, however it is nice to hear the drums/percussion. I can't quite put my finger on what I don't particularly like about the show other than the recording might be too clean and doesn't mix well for listening enjoyment. Of course, playing with equalizer levels helps, but it isn't perfect . . . hence the four stars.

The show itself suffers from the clarity. You can hear every mistake in the vocals, which is not always what one wants in a concert (I think this is mainly Adam and mostly at the beginning). A definite plus is the number of new songs they play as this is definitely a great recording to hear the new songs in. The show starts off a little lackluster, but picks up quickly. If you like Guster, you'll enjoy this download.

Subject: Great recording and show!

This is probably the best of the 2005 recordings that I've found. The version of Captain is great, and it has a good balance of good sound with crowd singing and ambiance. Diane is a little hard to listen to, but I think that might be Ryan rather than the recording. The rest of the show is probably just a slight step down from Live on Ice (which is saying a lot). I've even considered burning to listen to in my car and to give to friends.

On a side note, I love the Either Way reggae version and Careful sounds solid

Subject: Wow...Very nice

A very good recording of Guster. Lots of crowd sing-along, but it is in the back of the recording, if that makes any sense. Very clear vocals and VERY clear drums -- quite an accomplishment for Guster recording. I'd give it a 6 to average the previous 4 to a 5. Very, very nice and highly recommended.

Subject: good show, good recording

This is the first show I've ever listened to from this room, so I don't know if they always have this very "up front" sound to them or if it's a product of the Guster setup, but I definitely like this recording more than the TLM-170R version. Both are nice but this one is better. It is of course cursed with an overly loud audience, as are all Guster shows, but the boys are on and it's a solid show. Like the new songs.
